How much does an early tub weigh? (1 Viewer)

As I look forward to pulling the tub from my ‘64 40 FST, I’m wondering how much an early tub weighs? I know they are heavy built, 16 gauge metal, but what does that mean in real weight? Will I need a crane, or can 4 or 6 guys lift it off?

I grew up in K Falls, but left as soon as I graduated high school. Have lived in Eugene/Springfield for 40+ years.

I’ll probably have to co-opt a few buddies from the local Porsche club, and maybe a neighbor. Plan is to pull the tub sometime in the spring and have it dipped before I start the rust repair.

I consistently do it with just three guys and it’s not bad at all. In fact, just put a tub on a couple weeks ago.

I did it with 2 but it was a bit on the silly side. I also was not as concerned about "scratching the new paint."

I've done it with 2. However, easier with 3 or 4. Any more than that would just be in the way.
