How many amps is the alternator good signal good for?

are you saying the 80 people are better then us?

Sounds like it. Maybe we should confiscate his rig and take his 100 card away...

Welll. Ummmmm, Ahhhh, not reallllllyyy.

There are more of them of course and more of them that would have used the alt signal for dual battery setups over the years so hopefully THEY may have come across the answer I am looking for.

Not sure on the HDJ100, but on the UZJ100 that signal does not work to pull a regular relay, even mall ones. I tried the smallest we had in the shop, can't recall the details, but it was a PC board mA one. We had to resort to a fancy Blue Seas ACR to make the dual batteries work. Their solenoid has a different triggering system vs a regular coil.

Thanks Christo,
In the 80 section I posted I may try a Solid State relay (SSR) as cruiser99 has done (thanks cruiser99) and then power other devices. Will have to chase up a small SSR and see how it goes.........another project slowdown. I will eventually let others know what I find, but looks like cruiser99 has his finger on the pulse.
The HDJ has a 120 amp alt, maybe diferent shape/mounting etc, (same brushes IIRC and I would expect a similar regulator) I love the blue sea systems HD battery switches and a lot of their other gear!
