I've owned my '78 for just shy of 16 years. Was my DD for the first 5 years, then just a 'driver' and weekend toy. Now have a '79/'81 project '40. They get in your blood and ya can't get 'em out

I've owned mine since Feb of 2002. Bought it when I was 16. Was my DD through HS and my first go at college.

Seems we've got this in common! I bought mine when I was 15, September 2001. I drove it through HS as well, then tore it down & restored it. Now it's our summer toy, and my hunting and fishing truck.

When I bought it:

This October she'll be 40. For her birthday I think I'll give her a tune up and replace the rear pinion bearing & seal.

21 Years

I'm the second owner of my '76 FJ40 for 21 years. First is how she looked about 15 years ago. And I just rolled her into the shed for a restoration about a month ago after sitting stripped and outside for almost 8 years.

Just like @shipmag 1977. Bought new in Las Vegas. October will make 45 years. Only 21 when I bought it. Original engine, trans, transfer, carb, starter, new Toyota distributor, re-cored radiator, Marks Off road steering box overhaul, new paint in 1992, window sticker and original bill of sale
