I did a fuel tank (pictured) and after the initial coating of POR, i peeked in to find some little drop-spots not covered -- so I poured the rest of the can in (1/2 hour after opening) and it coated the inside quite well --

-- now it's almost a week later, and it looks dry -- but when i smell the tank, it's still pretty noxious --

-- is there any correlation betw. "dry" and "gassy"?

I'd give POR15 a call tomorrow and see what they say. I think that 6 days should be plenty, but also think that the stuff is too expensive to risk screwing it up.

You're talking about their paint, not their gas tank liner, right?

Either way, I think you're probably good to go, as far as drying time. I just don't think regular POR is intended as a gas tank liner, however, and if it breaks down, you'll have trouble. Nothing wrong with calling them up. They may tell you to do liner over the paint.

It took 2-3+ weeks in the sun for my axle to dry with POR15. Even then I could scratch it with a fingernail. Now it is a very tough finish and nothing gets through it.

The detailed instructions say "at least 96 hours" or 4 days to dry.
