Ok. I’ve got it peeled back to where the head rest posts go in. How the heck do I get it to release?

The headrest trim/guide pieces ( I don’t know what to call them). They're about 4-5 inches long and snap down in place at the bottom. You can reach up behind the foam, squeeze the bottoms together to release them.

They are definitely tricky to get out.

Especially with steel in the way.

Reinstall of headrest guides is pretty simple but they need to be aligned correctly.

The guide with catch button is put in the hole near the door of vehicle and the button faces the door.

I found this to pretty helpful:

Great ad to this @Gundo . One of the things that has always driven my crazy is my inability to find the solution through search. Hopefully this one will help anyone in the future with this process. I was in full pucker mode removing the covers and foam not wanted to damage it at all. Once you know what you're doing it's super easy. Thanks again.
