Thought I’d take a look where there was some tape missing on the main harness on the passenger fender well. Copper appears corroded and brittle where the plastic is gone. Any tips on fixing these up? Hope the pic does it justice. Thanks all.

Chafed insulation can cause fires.
Corroded wires can heat up due to increased resistance.
That mangled bundle is a bucket of pain in the making.
Cut out the dead wire and splice with new.

Solder then shrink wrap?

Replacing the bad wire/section is ideal

Yes. Use adhesive lined heat shrink. It seals the splice so moisture won't get in.
Harbor Freight has a nice kit cheap.

Awesome. Great tip and just what I needed

awesome. Thanks for the tip. That’s exactly what I needed as I had no idea that was a thing. Of course I just got home from autozone with the nonadhesive variety. My luck….

already soldered 4 wires and heat shrunk and will gorilla tape with permanent black tape the harness. Guess I’ll do the headlight upgrade while I’m in the area.
