How did you set up your AT shifter? (1 Viewer)

Good morning. Hoping for some ideas / inspiration on how to set up the shifter for my SBC / TH350 and doubler set up.

What shifter did you use and any pictures of how it looks installed? Any clever set ups or things that you have seen that work well?

I've got some "off the wall" crazy shifter stuff in my ebay store, intended for rat rod guys, but worth a look just for the "gee whiz" factor: see my ebay #253191457911 with cable, and #264222045820 w/o cable. I do have a cable that could be supplied with the latter, the latter is an inexpensive choice, won't show what gear you are in, but trannys have built-in detents that pretty much let you know what gear you are in. Again, this is just weird hot rod stuff for weird rat rod guys.

I modified a 3 on the tree shifter to shift my 80 series auto

First, I cut down the factory shift rod. This is the before-

I used two tabs to center and position and shift rod. The shifter is spring loaded, and I really wanted to keep that feature. I wanted to make it shift out of PARK like a modern vehicle where you have to pull it toward to get it out of park, and once in the park position, it locks itself back into place.

I notched the inner tab in one location, just wide enough for a slice of 16g metal.

Welding the outer tab on-

Welding the inner tab to the outer tab, as well as the PARK position piece. This is what it looks like in gear-
