i have a 93 cruiser with an e locker rear end i was wondering if a 3rd without a locker would fit? can a c clip third work with a ff 3rd?

Yes, it will fit. You may need to replace some of the studs. A C-clip 3rd will also work, you just don't need to run the c-clips.

so i can take a 60 series third and drop it in no problem?
The 3rd will work just fine. Mark from MetalTech is running an FJ40 3rd in his 80. He also used the stock rear housing. There is a thread on it around her someplace. It is included in him getting the rig ready for CM'06...
I just replaced the e-locked full floating 3rd in my 80 with a '92 c-clip third from a semi-float with an aussie locker, and it was a direct bolt in deal, after changing out 2 studs in the housing...I noticed the aussie locker fits all the LC rear thirds from about '68 to '97 ....
