What are the pros and cons for running hot fuel through the fuel filter and into the pump and then into the injectors ? I have a device that runs in the heater line , the fuel runs inside a looped coil built inside this device. In other words the fuel in heated by the ant-freeze. It is an old gas saving device I have laying around. With all the cool temp these days is this a good idea. What about the summer?

I doubt it will save fuel.

But warm fuel will burn nicer. If it's too hot the viscosity will be too low. So it's kinda a game. Too hot no good, warm, just right.

Lots of engines I work on have a fuel heater(aircraft). It helps in the extreme cold flow much nicer thru filters and won't wax.

No need in the summer at all.

I guess hot fuel or warm fuel is good in winter, it loses its lubricisity when hot, up until recently I used to purchase about 11,000 liters of diesel per month and have seen injector pump failure on 14.6 liter Cat motors when the fuel heaters are left on during the warm months
note any thing that I type is of my own experience, and do not take information from others.

Any loss of lubricity with heating can be offset with 5% biodiesel, Veg-oil, or more expensive commercial additives. The problem of insufficient lubricity was significant with Low Sulfur Diesel, but is not a problem with the present ULSD if it meets ASTM lubricity specs as required by law.
