I just bought a LC in which the engine ran so hot it blew the top off the radiator. Any one know how tough these 4.5L in-lines are, will the bottom end be ok? can I get by w/doing a head job & new radiator, or shud I find another engine & swap parts if necessary in order to have an engine I don't need to worry abt???

You will not know until you pull it apart, I would suspect a warped head, some time if the engine has been run long enough to get that hot, it may of blued the cylinder wall (make them soft and then wear out quicker), It also could get hot engouh to momentarly stuck the rings to the cylinder walls and then create scratches, which over time will destroy the engine. The best way to tell is to pull the engine apart and look. later robbie
