I cleaned the MAF sensors on my '06 LX and my '06 4Runner yesterday, both about 146k miles. Likely the first time they've ever been cleaned although they both appeared to be in new condition on the exteriors, hard to see the tiny wires inside though.

My issue was I didn't disconnect the battery first, darn youtubers...I knew I should've perused MUD first! And already ran one of them at idle.

Any specific reason why I can't simply disconnect the battery today, after the fact to do the reset? Yes...I'll be sure the steering is centered first.

TIA

No, you must wait another 146k miles so the MAF gets good & dirty again, THEN disconnect the battery & repeat the cleaning.

Or you can take a huge risk and disconnect the battery now and let the truck re-learn the idle & mixture settings. Up to you.
