Are the ones on a FJ40 the same as on my 72 Pig? One side the spring is completely gone. Help!

My 73 doesnt have any hood hooks. I didnt know any yr 55 did.

Yep, it's true. I just don't care that much.
Pigs never came with hood hooks. Unless you are talking about the hood latch under the front of the hood, behind the griil. But '40s never had those, so...

I didnt think they ever had them, your must have been added by a PO perhaps the latch under to hood is broken.

Damn. The original latch mechanism and release cable are gone and after all this time I never noticed the lack of hooks on other rigs!! Well I've got the holes so I might as well use em. I'll check the hooks on my 40 when I get home from the fire station in the AM. Thanks.
Good luck with that. When I buy my parts pig in a few weeks I'll sell you the hood latch and cable and all if you want. Assuming its in a useable condition.
