Cool man, nice work!
I'm sorta looking forward to tackling patching and paint this summer. I don't think ol moose will make another winter without it.

Finished up the weld on the passenger side quarter panel by the fuel filler. I didn't realize how far off the body work was from the previous owner. It took a lot of bondo to get it to symmetrically match the other side of the truck. I'll post up some photos of the bondo job when it stops raining. Jumping into the body work was intimidating at first but I'm feeling a little more comfortable. I am wondering where to cut myself off. The balance of working on the truck vs using the truck is constantly going on in my head.

Speaking of using the truck, my girl said it was cool if I went into the Sawtooths for a couple days. There hasn't been any notable snow for over a week, but the north faces were still fluffy. The sound deadening and carpet was really nice for the trip. I am hoping to get the rear interior panels finished as I am sure that will increase the insulation value when car camping. It was 5 degrees in the mornings near Stanley.

Anyone have recommendations on what to do with this kind of rust? Looks to be pitted but still material left. Looks complicated for my metal working skills to form these shapes.

Great progress today. The windshield area was rusty and I knew it. I had a glass guy come and take the windshield out and I am glad I did, this was what I saw. I decided to go get a die grinder for the smaller cut off wheels, as well as, the smaller sanding discs. Lots of welding and grinding. That was about 3-4 of work and then I wss able to tackle a lot of basic sanding after that.

Lots of sanding. Anything that looked like it could become a problem has been sanded back down to metal. All the other sanding is back down to between the 1st and 3rd base coat.

Did some chopping out rust and replace with steel missions today. Driver's rear quarter is out and found some inner fender metal was rooting too. A previous repair consisting of some sort of mud/epoxy mix was smeared into the seam. Found some good metal to weld my repair into. I'm spraying some rust mort onto the remaining pieces that are salvageable.

I got a bit of welding done today. The drivers quarter panel went in. Not to much resistance getting it to fit. There are some little issues from the Alfa Quarter panel. The shape was not as defined or pronounced as three factory panel. For $300 to my door though, is hard to complain. The shaping of the lower quarter on the passenger side is coming together.

I was able to finish welding the large driver's side quarter panel today. The lower part had to be custom formed since I couldn't seem to source any good steel. I worked about 6 hours to finish this up.

It took a lot of brain power for me to figure out how to shape everything. The piece I cut out was pretty mangled, however it did help. I found it best to get the metal you are piecing in, as close as possible to the shape you want it to be. It is really hard to start shaping it when it's tacked to the car

Long work trip in the Midwest and Colorado kept work on the Honey Badger almost noon existent. I drive this Trax vehicle on the mountain at a ski race I work at. Might be a fun to have a snow 60.

What’s the steering like on those?
