Looks like nice work

But, why is the hitch so low?

Why not integrate into the center of the bumper up out of the way.
 
I still wanted to utilize the 4 mounting bolts on the face of the cross member. If those 2 inches keeps from going places i really don't need to be there.
 
The whole thing is 5/16 or just the mounts? If your bumper is to heavy in a rear end accident it can actually bend or flex your frame

Or a well built bumper can keep your frame from bending in an accident.:rolleyes:

This is an untrue statement. i've been rear ended several times with no damage what so ever. The other guy...can't say the same thing.
