I just installed a brand new uninstalled Holley projection 4d kit on my FJ40 with a chevy 350, well you know they stopped making these kits back in like 2000, so its technically not new.
after completely installing the kit, turn the key and vroom, starts right away, but stumbles and dies in less than 15 seconds.

The 4d kit requires a calibration box to tune the ECU on this kit, but the box is broken in my kit and as far as i can thats what i need to get this thing running properly.

When starting it shoots a little gas then stops, thats were the calibration box comes into play, it is supposed to be adjusted to spray fuel continuessly.

I called Holley and the calibration box is obsolete, and none to be found.

So i guess what i am saying is, Does anyone have a projection 4d kit installed on their vehicle and do you still have the black calibration box? I will pay someone just to let me borrow it.

Or does anybody else have any ideas?

One option is to upgrade the kit to the newer commander 950, but that is about $1000 bucks

Howdy! Since it is not on the market any more, will HOLLY give/sell you a schematic, so you can put one together? John

tried ebay and craigslist, i found a jeep owner with a box but wont let it out of his hands

The same guy i keep getting in touch with at Holley is a dick and wont even talk about the pro-jection unit

my calibration box is complete, but it has some memory cards soldered on the board, it is getting power but i suppose the cards with the information are bad.

I know its a long shot, but my old projection analog with run for a few seconds then quit when the tach to computer wire isn't connected. Good Luck,
B.

thats one thing i though about, i have the yellow wire going to negative on the coil.

but that still wouldnt explain the calibration box, there is an LED light that is supposed to light up when properly connected. it doesnt light up, and none of the knobs make any adjustment to the fuel spray

Dang it, I was hoping we'd get lucky. :frown:

Well good luck bud,
B.
