The plan for Saturday is the run some trails between Sycamore and the Verde. Michael needs to have his truck at the storage place by 5:30 PM, so we will be back to the highway relatively early. This run is very close to town, we will probably be leaving the highway on the road to the north, just east of the river on the map.

These are trails that we will be running for the first time, so no idea on their difficulty. But we won't run anything outside of the comfort level, capability of the trucks, drivers in the group. We have no problem with and have become pretty good at turning around and backtracking!:D

Meeting at the Baja gas station across from the casino on Beeline HWY, a couple of miles after Shea Blvd turn off, at about 9:00 in the morning. Everyone welcome, postup and/or showup!:D

12/30 wheelin'

Not to be too forward, but can I come? My name is Bret, and I have been building my '03 Taco for this past year. This is my first post. I'm intersted in the 12/30 trip off the beeline.

I have done a fair bit of trails: C-gap, Payette, De Soto, Crown King backroad, Broken Arrow, Martinez (to the mine).

Thanks

Sure thing, your welcome to join us.:D

I so badly need to do DeSoto one more time...

Oh, no, I didn't run that nightmare you guys had going with the FJ team- I saw that coming a mile away. I last ran DeSoto in my Nissan and I need to run it now to see just how silly easy it is.

of course, you will be wellcome :D although you may have way too much experience already ;) ;) ;) :flipoff2:

except for Michael yapping away with a K5 buddy on the patio - no end in sight ;p  - we will make every effort to be on time tomorrow ;) :D

maybe I should be more hesitant with that broker zipper on the softtop ? :flipoff2:

I/We unfortunately will not make Saturday run - still have stucco and piant work on the house requiring rear yard access and k-9 control. Howsomever (sp?) I will be planning a local New Years Eve or NY Day run. More to follow...

.... and by the way, Michael sez if some of you guys want to be serious, then you gotta get yerself some rock lights mounted underneath your rides...:D :grinpimp:

All right, time to go for today's run!

It should be mentioned for any newcomers that the rocks above were optional. So if you didn't want to do it, you could just drive the bypass. Which I did  . We don't do the peer pressure stuff.

OK, maybe a little. ;p :grinpimp:

However, if you are on the edge:confused: , encouragement and excellent spotting are provided;) !

And, of course, Spike will test the line for you:bounce: :bounce2:

I provided the encouragement for this run, Phil provided the testing. :D

Well, today's run was to determine where FR1856 went. As usual, we got lost right after airing down, inadvertently trespassed onto the Rez, avoided a tussle with two LEO's by swamping them with trail numbers info and a map they didn't have, came back to the straight and narrow. Drove some 2-3 miles of whoop-dee-doos up Ironwood wash out of Lower Sycamore, hit FR1852 and then FR1096. Admired Bumper Rock on 1096, which still had paint from my tie rod and relay rod on it as it jumped in my way on Saturday last week  Allright, here's some pics:

Air-down time; Claudia/40; Kevin/LX; Spike/80; Rob/80, Michael/K5; Brad/Taco
Cruisin' thru the morning mist, and a view of Sugarloaf Mountain

Turns out that FR1856 connects from the intersection with FR1096 down to Upper Sycamore Creek, thru the SuperHighway wash. Beautiful desert, rolling terrain, easy cruisin'.
