In-Laws where here for the Holidays and used my LX.

No issues reported. When I take the truck for a drive after they left there is a horrible grinding noise when applying the brakes.

Take the wheels off and found the friction material had separated from the backing on the RF inner pad.

Fortunately the brakes continued to function and no one was hurt.

Minor scoring to rotor. I put on new pads for now and all is well.

The pad that separated was a Toyota part with 37k miles on it.

The good news is the factory pads were holding up well at that mileage, including towing a popup in the summer.

I've heard of that happening, but never saw it before. Very happy to hear there was no incident or accident.

Define minor scoring. Does it catch a fingernail?
I would have had that side turnt up.

Personally, I would not rush to turn the rotor. I think that a minor groove should have no significant adverse effect on braking. You just get a corresponding ridge in the pad, no big deal.

That is my thinking.

I have another car I drive in the summer.

That makes it easy to have the LX down for a few days to have the rotors turned, check axle seals, etc.
