Awsome pictures...wish I was there!!!

But great you found the problem at last.

I'm sitting here with my chin in my lap. Never thought of dragging brakes. And then...one would expect that after such a distance (30 k's !?) the brakes would stink and smoke.......and it would be quite obvious.
Well....as they say.....never too old to learn.

One last question: exactly how did you (or your mechanic) find it!

You didn't really notice when backing off or stopping as its quite a big rig. The MS wasn't letting the fluid back in, but after those 20 or 30k's it worked its way free, thats when it went ok and of course when i stopped, applying the brakes, then taking off again they would stick. So simple really, I had actually said a couple of times that it feels like the brakes were on. Only wish a i had of jacked the front and tried to spin the wheels, problem would have been solved a long time ago!!

Very happy anyway, had a great trip home after awesome camping weekend on the beach, just had to pull over after you braked and bleed the front! Drove like a dream. Couple of pics below of the weekend.

It may pay to pull the wheels off and inspect the rotors for surface cracks after getting that hot ,if they are warped you should feel some pulsing in the brake pedal. Some rotors warp easily when hot and the brakes are held on while you are stationary. cheers

That is a really cool expedition vehicle. It looks as though it has had a 600mm chassis extension.
Who made the camper back?

Yes, its had a chassis extension. The body is an Akhana pop top, they don't make them anymore. The whole body is aluminium. Its a great truck, really comfortable and HEAPS of room! and not bad as a 4x4 and doesnt sway around in the wind or when passing trucks. We are really looking forward to lining the inside and getting it set up

Arkana had their factory near me before they went bust. The owners brother has a factory doing Landcruiser modifications for the govt and mining company.
I nearly bought one with a very similar body that had been an ambulance in the Pilbara
