Anyone know about the oil gauge

The general rule is if the gauge needle is sitting way lower than 0 , its the gauge. They are fragile to being shorted etc. The sender on the engine is common on any Toyota from the same years as the 75

Does anyone have any tips or tricks for cleaning the rails for the seats? Mine are hardly rolling and apart from blasting it with air to clean it out, I'm not sure what else can be done...
I have completely taken them out and off the seats, as a starting point.

I used a hot water pressure washer and degreaser, works well. Not sure a cold water washer will do the same job though. These things get worn out after all these years, might pay to add up whether it's worth the pain of fixing them versus new ones

Update:
Went for a test drive late last week around the block and the shifter came off in my hand when I was in 4th!
New cap arrived quickly, which was great.

Question.
What is everyone's thoughts on doing a 2" lift on the front to level out the truck?

I know it will level with load, but it's not loaded all the time

Update:

You might want to check out the retaining pins in the socket for the shifter. They wear and can cause a lot of probs with shifting as well.

Next question Question time...
So the box lid in my tub strikes the cab if I have it sitting on the mounts correctly, which means I need to pull the tray back about 30mm. (1.5 inch)
Visually I think it is OK and the gap is not to bad on the cab, it's just the clearance of the rear tire arch on the tray. Do you think it will strike the tray or does the rear wheel path move slightly rear wood?

First photo is it sitting back, second is it sitting forward. Notice the tire clearance on the tub

Nice work on the truck man, it’s looking great. Clean welding for somebody who claims to not be mechanically inclined.

For me, the rear wheel being uncentered in the arch on the tub would bother me, just from a looks standpoint. Have you made a stop for the lid of the box? Or maybe put it on gas struts adjusted so it stops just before touching the cab?

It would have annoyed me if the tyres did not line up. After much staring and thinking, I have a solution for the box lid, which should work.

Update:
So I cut out the box lid and redid it so that the tub can be mounted correctly over the wheels.

Sprayed the primer and raptor liner.

Tray is back on. Now to wire up all the led lights.
Glad I redid the box.
