While I was shopping for 2H and other diesel Land Cruisers, I noticed a severe lack of videos on the Internet which detail these things just tootling along. Most videos are showing off a recent turbo install. I made a quick and dirty video of a ten minute hill climb flogging my stock 2H HJ60 over a 1100' elevation change.
Ignore the boring flatout-in-4th-gear-bit over Stinson Flat (All the oaks and flat ground). If I'dv'e grabbed fifth there, I'd surely be a criminal.
The Cruiser loved it, and I did too. All kept within allowed speed limits, of course. After all of that commotion, the water thermometer was only reading 180 degrees. On a day that was over 100 degrees and I was climbing a much steeper grade, I've seen 200 on that thermometer. That's when you turn on the heater full-blast and slow the heck down.
