1980 HJ45 with a new battery. Cleaned the terminals and installed and cranked it a few times (no start, but that’s a different issue). Walked away for 10 mins and came back and no power period. No lights, no click, nothing - it’s like there’s no battery in there when I turn the key.

checked the battery - it’s fine, and brand new with over 12v.

checked the terminals - no corrosion and ground looks good.

checked wires under the hood and under dash to see if something came loose.

checked fuse box under dash - all good.

Its crazy - was cranking fine and I walk away and Christine is acting like it’s possessed. What am I missing here? Could something have blown from cranking it a few times? Fusible link? Relay?

Well, I installed a new battery/ground and checked the block/chassis - nothing. Took apart the ignition and it’s fine as well. Any ideas? Anyone have an issue similar?

You should have three, or possibly four (depending on model) parallel fusible links coming off you battery positive terminal. Start trouble shooting there.
(BTW, the numbers on thefisible links refer to the wires cross sectional area)
