Droooooooollllllllll

Leaving here in a few hours, so had to visit the Workshop area one last time. While I was going to check out a couple of 75 series trucks (last picture in this post), Jigme's rig pulled up all muddy from a trip to Punhkha, which is a three hour drive over several areas of construction and land slides. This was once an ambulance 20+ years ago. A half block away were two other ambulances ilke this being repaired. Sweet sunroof!

Note the vehicle hiding behind the Safari snorkel……..

Best BJ45 in the country, I think. '83 or '84 model that was here about three weeks ago.

And here's the two other 75s on the other side of the lane. This is the highest concentration of different LCs I've seen in one spot, with the exception of Cruise Moab, or a HDC monthly meeting……..

Finally, I made my third visit to Tiger's Nest last week. Each time I do the hike I see something new. The inside is as amazing as the exterior (no pictures allowed inside). Standing on the balconies in the sunlight, looking down at the valley below is absolutely unforgettable! Other monasteries here are also spectacular, but this one is something special.

You can see the path leading up to the monastery - too narrow for Cruisers.

See you back in NM soon!

Barry -

Thanks again for the "Cruiser Tour of Bhutan"!

Beautiful country and cool trucks too.

Back in Bhutan, it's been quite a ride…….big quake and aftershocks in Nepal were all felt here, about 250 miles from Kathmandu. Hard to imagine the suffering and devastation happening to the west of here. A few days before the big quake, I was thinking of Onur and his new 70 series soft top when this newish police pilot vehicle pulled up with four armed guys just 30 seconds before the US Ambassador to India pulled up in front of his hotel. They let me take pictures of their ride before they pulled out. The driver was really proud of his truck, carried a towel to shine it - and did so the photo would be a good one!

On a hike to a rural school for traditional arts (wood carving, painting, embroidery), I spotted this lovely chorten typical of the Himalayan landscape, with a BJ40 hiding nearby at the home of a wood carver.

Two days ago, we made yet another trek to Tiger's Nest monastery with some Albuquerque friends, who were visiting as tourists. Small tremors were occurring during the hike, but the monastery was literally solid as a rock despite the shaking. Check out the lettering on the back of my shirt.
