Usually the "rebuilt" high amp alternators just have higher current diodes and don't actually put out any extra amps. I would look at some the higher output Toyota alternators available and see if they could be fit. IIRC some tundras come with 160 and 180 amp alts which would probably be enough of an upgrade for your purpose.

Tundras with the towing package came with 150 amp alternators. Probably what I would do, but may not be enough for what you want.

I have not got a chance to test yet, truck is undergoing a big build right now.

Any updates Seth? The Alt in our GX is out...unsure I can wait for shipping for a higher output versus the local/stock 130amp, but might consider it if yours is still performing well.

I just found your ? For some reason I did not get notified of your ? , I will check settings in CP, anyway, yes it is still performing perfect. Its been on for over a year with no problems.

I see a few of them on eBay now (200a and 250a); if those power ratings are correct, I might have to grab one.

Hey Seth,

I am doing the timing belt on our GX soon and while I'm in there wondering how to take advantage of all the access I'll. If I'm going to put in a high output alternator, this is the time.

What were the reasons you did so? (we ancipate adding OBA (viair) and fridge this year. and eventually some lighting and radio.

If we add such a piece what else should I be aware of about the job? I haven't done much in the way of electrical work before so if there's a guide that shows what would be different about connecting Hight Output vs. stock that would be helpful.

Thanks!
