I would either leave the 3F alone or swap it with a 1HZ.
As I said above, it is not a bad engine.
If fuel mileage is a concern, do a swap.
If fuel mileage is not a concern, repair as needed, tune it up and enjoy it.

Hello,
Frame looks clean. Chances are this truck lived in a rather dry climate.
Shock absorbers' bolts need replacement with proper/OEM hardware.
Shocks look tired. It is worth to take them out, check them and replace if necessary.
Leaf springs look old, but it might be the corrosion they have, which -by the way- appears to be superficial.
Exhaust needs replacement.
The rear differential cover looks like it was patched sometime in the past. And yes, it is a Dana 60.

@Zjohnsonua is working on 2uz swap and may chime in. Super nice guy and very knowledgeable.
H55F will have no issues dealing with the 2UZ torque/HP. It's regularly mated to American V8's.
That said, is it the best transmission behind the 2UZ? No. I would recommend an H151F and HF1A/2A transfer case instead.... This would be from a non-US UZJ100 with manual trans.

What did you do with all of the vacuum switches and emissions equipment from the 3F? I'd be interested in some of the parts.
