HG Leak Affect CA Smog Test? (1 Viewer)

Gotta get smogged. Never been a problem with a long freeway run just beforehand. But now there's a gas odor in the radiator, presumably a HG leak. Anyone know whether this will have any effect on a CA smog test? 1995 LC. Thanks!

Not likely to effect it. As long as your not pouring white smoke.

It's possible your nox might be high, but that's only if engine temps are to high because the head gasket is effecting cooling.

I would be more worried about my engine overheating while they're testing it.

I had no issues with mine with a slight head gasket leak passing smog. Mine is 1995 so they don’t do the obdii test.
