It was originally purchased in Borrego Springs and has spent its entire life living in the desert (and it still has small spots of rust!!). Last registered in '98 due to a "blown engine" while driving to Big Bear. They attempted a V8 transplant, but apparently either lost interest or decided a transplant was too much work. He ground out the V8 mounts, bought an entire 2F driveline from a 60 series, and tried unsuccessfully sourcing engine mounts for the 2F. A few weeks ago, our mutual friend tells me he is selling it!!! He lost interest in it. Long story short; I had a vehicle I could sell, listed it, sold it in 2 days, then drove out to Coachella Valley made a deal and picked it up.
I'll get some good pictures of it and post them. For me personally, I've never seen a nearly rust free pig. This one is probably as close as it gets!

Looks like we will have quite a few SO CAL 55's
40 engine mounts will work- and if you need transmission mounts - I have a couple I just removed from mine- I am going the 3FE-A440 route and had to surgically remove em.

Ok-those transmission mounts are all yours- FWIW I just set a 3FE into my 71 frame and had no issues - so maybe some 2F mounts will work.

I have to specify that I need the frame side mounts. My 2F has the 'engine' mounts already on it, plus I have what could be the original F 'engine' mounts. I have frame mounts, but they may be the problem 40 mounts. The holes in the frame are welded, so I don't really know where they are supposed to mount. I may need to look at a 55 and take some pictures/measurements.TemeculaTim said:
