Hey Mudders,

In case you haven't seen it already, go into YouTube when you get a chance and search for OTRAMM. Turns out it's a repair shop in VA and they have been putting up some very well informed and very informational videos about what to look for when buying a Land Cruiser, how to do particular repairs, etc. From the looks of the videos, the guy knows our trucks really well, and he is offering up excellent advice gratis.

For many of us, reading the FSM is a good start, but being walked through something in audio/video format is far more helpful.

Check it out, you won't be disappointed!

Big Ups to OTRAMM!!!!!

OTRAMM <=they’ve got an informative vendor section too.

I’ve watched the front end rebuild video several times.

His videos are the best but my one criticism is he takes too long repositioning the camera or lights, i then just jump ahead and assume incorrectly, do something, bang it up, replace what i did, rewind video and watch normally as I should have originally.

YouTube allows you vary the speed of the video. I usually watch in 1.25 or 1.5 speed, then slow down when it gets critical.

If you find these useful, definitely become a subscriber and like their videos. They also have a Patreon page which is a really easy way to support them to the tune of $2, $5, or $x per month. I did it just because I appreciate Ryan's effort to make these videos for us!

@OTRAMM i think this is reasonable feedback. Editing editing out that footage in post is simple enough.
That way you can help save stupid from its self @whaler :flipoff2:

I just watched the oil pump seal video and cant believe the entire actual job was done in 45 minutes.... I get there is reassembly, but 45 minutes???? That looked like at least a weekend job for me

Ryan is a clearly a landcruiser expert of all models, and a nice guy too. He just helped a bunch of local cruiserheads including myself last weekend.

I've been touting his videos for a while and I applaud the OP for bringing this up.
I'm sure these videos are not free for him to produce either.

I can see 45 minutes as long as you've done it before and the stupid screws don't strip out. I did mine before I knew about JIS bits.

Its one of those jobs that would go significantly faster the more times you do it, similar to knuckle rebuilds. Part of it is fine tuning the procedure, the other part is having/knowing exactly what tools work the best for a smooth process.

Most of the time I do try and edit it out. Sometimes though I'm catch myself talking as I'm moving the camera. In those cases I leave it in. Working on getting better at editing but it still takes forever to shoot and edit the videos.

Yeah that makes sense. I’ve personally not noticed excessive adjusting.

No doubt video takes a TON of off camera effort and your videos are really well done.

I think he makes slapstick auto repair videos where he breaks bolts and drops f-bombs a lot. Entertaining to say the least!

Possibly my favorite interpretation of what I've done on youtube.
