HELP!!!

O.K. Guys.. I posted about 3 weeks ago about my 80 series starting fine, and holding idle, but then stalling out when more fuel was given to the old girl.. ..

People at the time thought it might be gelling.. it made sense... I added a litre of Kerosene... De-Gel... Anti-Gel.. things seemed to be better... the weather got better and between all of this the truck started to run WAY WAY better...

Since then the weather got a little cooler and the truck ran fine..... Now that it has gotten colder the a witches tit here (-29C and minus 40C with the windchill) it is pulling the same sh*t again..

Although not as bad as it was the last time.... but still stalling out and really pissing me off..is there anyway there is water in the system?? how do I check it?? any other suggestions?? algae?? how do I check it??

I parked the truck in a underground parking lot tonight for a couple of hours, and it cleared up great.. then 20 min later on the way home I could tell it was acting up again... I'm no mechanice by anymeans, but I can try things if you can describe them to me.. thanks again for trying to help... all the best.. sorry for the long post...

Windchill only affects animate objects.

Sounds like a fuel heater might be a good addition to your truck.

Toyota makes some, but I'm sure you can find one online somewhere... or make up something of your own (run some steel fuel line coils around a hot coolant hose or something similar just before the fuel gets to the pump to warm it up).

I believe the gold standard are the Webasto heated filters. A search should turn up some hits.

I would head to your local diesel vendor and look at some of the Racor offerings. Something like this with the optional heater would work great and would be pretty simple to wire and plumb!

I think you could easily do everything for under 150 USD. Do an eBay search for Racor and you can get some rough estimates...Steve

the cold can and will affect the fuel, if you have a bad tank of fuel then it can gell when exposed to the temps we are getting right now. i would recommend a good shot of antigel and go fill up the tank at a well used truck stop...
usually these boys turn over their stock quicker and are more on top of running good fuel...(nothing worse than a lot of pissed off trucks coming back to your station)...
pull the fuel filter, dump out the fuel fill with sea foam reinstall and run, this should clean out any residue in the lines, pump and injectors. a half bottle of Howles in the tank and top up at a good shop... are my suggestions.
buying fuel from "ma and pa's" fuel depot is about the worst you can do this time of year...
