I've been trying to program my Scan Guage II for transmission temp on my 2013 LC. I've tried these three codes from Scan Gauge and and I get nothing.

Has anyone been successful in programming the trans temp? If so do you have a different code than what I've tried?

Thanks

Bump

Can anyone confirm the ScanGauge II codes for transmission temp on a 2010 LX570? It's becoming a blur, but I think I have tried every code I could find on Mud and also on the ScanGauge website. Everything I try gives me a blank. I have firmware version 4.53.

Did you check with Scangauge you have the latest version of the firmware? Once I had the firmware updated the programming worked. I don't remember which one worked but your'll know when you see a value in the trans temp field. Helps to have the engine running or warm. The value should be about the same as the water temp.

I have firmware version 4.53 which according to their website is the latest.

Looks like there is one here for 2010+ you didn't mention.

Success! Thanks @sdnative and @mep1811. Turns out it was the third one down on the list above. I thought I had tried all of them, but I must have missed a digit somewhere. Now I can monitor my towing temps!

OK, I'm happy, but now I want more! I understand that there are two places temp is measured, the pan and the torque converter.

How do I know which one is which and how can I get both? I tried the other codes and only the one gave me anything.

I need help with programming a Scan Gauge II to read the trans temp for my 2019 LC 200 8-speed.

I towed over the continental divide (four times, ranging from 11,158 feet to 11,542 feet) last week, my 2019 LC 200 pulling a Lance 2375 camping trailer (28 feet, about 6500 lbs. loaded). Slee put stiffer springs on the Cruiser this year (OME 2700 front, OME 2721 rear) and I use a weight distributing, anti-sway hitch.

All went well, but I spent a great deal of time going up and down the hills in 2nd or 3rd gear, 3000-5000 rpm. On Monarch Pass, I came down in 2nd gear at a steady 44 mph and did not need to touch the brakes. Awesome! But I was almost always manually selecting the gear except on fairly flat sections of road, so I was rarely in 6th gear (it’s an 8-speed but to tow one is supposed to stay in 6th (1:1) or lower and be in ECT mode). (BTW, mpg was 7 when climbing and 8 overall – maybe a tad better because my tires are 3% bigger OD.)

Still, I wondered what my transmission temperature was, and I just bought a Scan Gauge II with X Gauge. Now I need the code to program the Scan Gauge II to read my transmission temperature. X Gauge provides a few different codes to trial-and-error, and their tech department just told me to try each until it works.

Has anyone already done this? For the 8-speed automatic transmission on the 2016 and newer LC 200?

I’ll look for an answer here. If none comes and I resort to trial and error, I’ll report what I learned. Or didn’t learn, should it not work out.

I’ve loosely kept track of this and I’m pretty sure there is no X gauge programming for trans temp in the 8 speed with the Scangauge II. Trial and error would likely be just error.

It works! It took four tries, but here is the answer (for my 2019 LC 200)!

To program Trans Temp (°F), enter:

TXD = 07E12182

RXF = 046105820000

RXD = 2808

MTH = 00090005FFD8

I named mine TRN.

I drove around a while and T went up near 150. I’ll be towing in the next few days and we’ll see what it reads under load.

Awesome! I’m going to program mine this evening. Hopefully my Scangauge firmware will be ok with this.
