I have a heat shield that has broke and is causing a vibration around 1600-2000rpms and is a bit annoying. I have tried searching for the proper part number but haven't come up with anything. Anyone know if this part is available or would it damage anything if I just remove it? I could wrap the exhaust in exhaust tape if it would help.

Attached are a couple pics and this is the heat shield around the first O2 sensor.

TIA!

Andy

Mine did the same thing. I used a big metal hose clamp. That fixed it.

1740166090, this appears to be the part number for the CAT, and the best price I can find around is around $1400. I'm simply only needing the heat shield.

I thought about that, but was hoping that a replacement was available, or if anyone knew if it was actually needed.

I used stainless steel 'zip ties', 3/8".
It was coincidental actually, as I really got them to secure an air line running from the rear to the front bumper, atop a frame rail.

As stated above, that shield is not available as a separate part. Try a large metal hose clamp or a metal zip tie as mentioned.

Use a hose clamp. Make sure to turn the buckle so it doesn't catch the tire.

Otherwise, run without it. On the aftermarket exhausts, none of them have that.

Take it off and enjoy the rattle-free drive (for now).
