Gents,

Need your advise what to do. This morning, while i'm doing my routine check, i noticed a trace of formed rust that must be from the cooling water leaking out. It is on the area between the engine block and cylinder head very adjacent to where the cooling pump inlet pipe is located.

What should i do to prevent further damage to my engine if not quickly fixed? Should i remove the cylinder head and check the condition of the cylinder head gasket or just check the torque on the bolt if they were torqued properly. What number should i get from a properly torqued cylinder head bolts?

Hoping to hear from you the soonest.

cheers!

Hi Johnny C,

I am not so sure but the traces of rust coming from a dried water is seen in between the block and the head near where the water pump is located.

Cheers!

Can you post up a pic?

IMHO, probably leaking from the gasket between the engine and the water pump inlet. I don't think a head gasket "dies" without noise (loss of power, water in oil (oil looking like milk chocolate) heavy smoking etc.
