Hello world, I have a 1981 hj47 from Australia (from @Paraglider). Used to be an emergency response vehicle.

I'm replacing all the hoses and noticed the hose kit is a little different and I'm suspecting mine was modified.

There is a weird t junction sensor between the lower port radiator to engine. The wire goes to something that looks like a solenoid. Sorry I don't know much about diesels.

Would greatly appreciate some expertise as I need to resolve today haha. Do I need it? I've been running hot on hills so I'm trying to clean the coolant out.

if the part is being fed by a large guage red cable off that solenoid I would guess that it is a heater and not worry about eliminating

maybe this is what it looked like when a emergency response vehicle ?

if so , then a rear heater for the sick and injured makes logic sense here ?

thats a SHOP made part for sure 100%
