Try this!

provided it's similar to that on my old BJ60: Has it come simply unglued or is the rubber pad sheared? I doubt the metal itself is gone, it's quite thick...

Anyway a couple of years ago I had to fix mine, the rubber had come unglued from the base metal and I couldn't get a new one fast enough and I didn't like the price Toyota charged for one so I glued it back using JBWeld epoxy. I have to thank Shaun Wilkinson for that tip (where are you, Shaun?)

It's holding still today, 8 years later. :)

Basically I scored the rubber with a matal blade hacksaw about 1/4"deep every 1/4" in a grid pattern, made the steel very rough with a 16 grit sanding disk AND scored it with the hacksaw in a grid pattern (make sure there's no trace of rust!!!), cleaned everything thoroughly with acetone (or was it lacquer thinner?), applied JB weld to it and cured it in my gas oven (nice steady 100F with the pilot on) overnight then painted everything with heat resistant paint (SEVERAL coats!) and reinstalled it.

Problem solved!

Hope it helps...

OK, that clarifies things a bit! That doesn't look so good unless you can get one from a donor or are good enough to fabricate one yourself. The frame is easy enough to weld on, though, but it's a question of access. I did some welding repairs a few years ago on my BJ60 that are holding to this day...

The inside C-channel tends to rust away and is made of fairly thin metal, I replaced a section with 1/4" plate butt-welded to the edges of the exterior C-channel. That repair (rear upper shock mount transversal bar) has held up perfectly after 10 years or so or rust belt winters.

Good luck and hope it helps a bit!

OK....Sheldon from GS Cruisers tells me that the Frame bracket is the same on FJ-62s and HJ-60s So now the search continues for LT frame bracket

Thx

60 series 12HT/2H - 51401-60021 for the RH (It does show some FJ62 apps)
60 series 12HT/2H - 51422-60052 for the LH (It does show some FJ62 apps)

Dunno if those apps mean you can use USA mount. Check and see.

My observation from my current swap project is that FJ-60 and HJ-60 mounts are not the same. Similar - yes.

The biggest difference seems to be that the FJ mounts put the engine up a little higher. I would be careful using these as your engine might end up a little too high in the front.

Greg - The mounts you sold me are from a HJ-60, right?

I am thinking that the frame tabs may be the same between the HJ60 and FJ-62, the differance would be in the cast iron wedge portion of the mount.

still looking for a (Lt) FJ-62 mount

I am doing a 2H into a FJ body. I have them side by side and NO they are not the same....not even close and far from being in the same place. The LT side is about 6" farther back

Yes, taken off an HJ60 frame.

The engine frame mounts are an item that is listed as a seperate item from the frame on the EPC. Locate and weld. FJ60 is listed as different then the FJ62, which makes sense (2F vs 3FE). Also there is a split in the FJ62. EPC specifiy's a difference if the FJ62 has a winch or not. The winch version shows the same part number as the HJ6* 1985/10-1990/01. This may be the difference Zander ran into, which he details well in this thread: https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=108473
