Here it is, still dark here but you can make it out, small door opens and tire dosen't block the lights, while we're on it I bought a 33" tire cover and it dosen't fit very well a little small, a 35" tire cover would probably work, but I couldn't find one. I also lock it with a cable.
Help me out with tire sizes?

The new tires look great! Are your wheels 7" or 8" wide? In regards to moving that tire mount... be careful when you open the door. My tire hits against the signal light. Do you notice any difference in power, or gear useability?

Capitalguy, thanks for the pic and the helpful info, I am going to lock up my spare also. Earl, the rims are 15x8", I have not noticed much difference yet, although I only drove the truck briefly after getting them installed. Thanks for the heads-up on being careful of hitting the light with the spare, also. They seem to be quieter than my old Pro Comp muds also. Thanks for the kind words, my next mod may be ditching the front bumper in favour of something different. Has anyone seen a bumper like the one in the pic, designed for the 70 series before?

Those are not legal in BC.
You need 100mm of height and it has to be as wide as the track width of the vehicle... but lots of people get away with neither regulation being adhered to. It's all about how your vehicle looks in general.
I am quite partial the newer ARB Offerings for front bumpers.

Didn't think they had anything new for the 70 series.
Maybe for the newer V8 front, but I thought the older 70 series models were still the same Commercial and Deluxe winch bars.
I need a new one after a trailbike rider bounced off the front of my bullbar last weekend, though I might leave it a little bent and get a custom tube bar made later on.

The "tin" bumpers are actually made from 80,000 PSI steel, so even though it's thin and light weight, it's much stronger than the heavier and thicker mild steel that most people make their bumpers from.
The 60 series bumper is now quite different than it was, I haven't compared the old vs. any new versions of the 70 series.
I don't think being hit by a 4x4 is ever pedestrian friendly, so I don't know what the EU and others are worried about. It's like putting a hot cup of coffee in your lap while driving and then blaming someone else for your own stupidity when you scald your bits...

John, i have seen these bumpers crumple and although many people like them and they are great for a quick, effective HUGE step up from stock they are not as tough as some like to believe.
of course i like one off items and not everyone can afford a one off. there is NO WAY anyone can make a bumper as cost effective and as practicle as mass production units. Manafree makes an excellent front bumper for the 40 series but even those have their issues. nothing is perfect (even one off units will have their flaws) and bang for the buck, it is hard to beat a ARB (and what ever that other brand is that starts with T..TJM? TGM? something like that)

The ARB on my FJ80 is pretty mangled. There's a BJ70 ARB for sale in classifieds for less than $200 in the states (bent/damaged). My buddy loves to make his C channel bumpers. Bends the ends in, and puts grate on top. Not as pretty as an ARB, but bomb proof

We priced out if we could make something like an ARB but stronger and more dedicated to the abuse-a-holic offroader and we deemed it to be very challenging unless we were to make a fairly large batch (not realistic for a small business) and then sit on them for ages while we try and sell them.
As a one-off backyarder, no problem... but that's when labour is free and you forget about how much all the welding paraphernalia cost.

New 70 series ARB winch bars look like this (from a thread in the lcool.org 70 series forum), I suppose it might be the Deluxe Winch Bar, a little different to their old style...

Update: took my spare tire carrier in to a local fab shop and got the guy to weld in some longer studs, with spacers built in so that the tire does not hang up on the rear windshield wiper. Yes I definitely like the ARB's, SimonInAustralia that is one sick ride! That is a fairly new one, I would imagine?
