Hello, Im pretty new to FJ40's and finally started working on one I picked up 3 years ago. Anyway it came with a this parts rig, and I'm trying to identify what tcase it has and what looks like an adapter bolted to it...maybe for a small block chevy conversion?...oh it was also bolted to what looks like an Advanced adapters T case crossmember...any help would be much appreciated, just trying to figure out what parts I have to work with, lol!

My guess would be 420 or SM465. Three speed does not have an idler shaft and the Toyota four speed didn't use that spine or come with a short spud shaft. Don't believe automatic transmissions have an idler shaft idler.

My guess would be sm420, it has a 10 spline output. Its only a guess, but the bolt payyern looks similar.

There's a part number on that adapter somewhere.

Very good chance it's an Advance Adapters adapter since the rear motor mount crossmember is definitely an AA.
