3fe alternator.

3fe alternator.
Ok I’m puzzled after some thought on the alternator wires hanging loose. With the ignition off why would the battery be live back to that abandoned harness from old engine? I’m not a wire guy but trying...

Presumably the wiring wasn't very thoroughly dealt with when the engine swap was done.
In a stock FJ62 the heavy charge lead and white wire from connector go direct to the battery (through a fusible link at the battery). The other two wires from connector have more circuitry involved for activation of the alt.

You’re correct, they didn’t do a very good job. Pencil wiped a prepurchase inspection and only owned 2 months and it’s been at the shop most of it. Thank you for the diagram. Looks like I’ll be splitting open some looms.
