Going to split this off into a separate thread, for increased visibility.

Still assessing what I have, so that I can decide what I need to find. Looking at the top and doors now.

I could use some help on this one. I fear that most of what I have is not original, some of it may not even be for a Land Cruiser at all.

I'm not even going to look at the top itself yet. It is black vinyl, probably a Bestop, possibly for a later truck.

I have two pair of doors — one pair is tan canvas over a wire frame, the others are obviously much later metal framed doors. The later doors were originally green. I do not have correct hinges for the later doors.

But I don't think I have the correct top frame bits for a '64 either. The B post fits OK, also green in color originally, so probably matches the later doors. There are a pair of what appear to be top bars to bridge between the B post and the windshield, bit they don't look to mate up to my early windshield either.

I was given two additional bows, but I don't think they fit any Land Cruisers. They are wider than the tub, no way to attach them at all. I'm leaning toward them being for a boat or something.

Here's some pictures, those of you with early FSTs please let me know if any of this is correct. Would be great if you could direct me to pictures of the proper top frame for a '64 FST, since I suspect I'm going to need to be hunting that down.

Also — Both sides of my tub have an added aluminum rail with snaps for the top. I'm assuming this was added to work with some non-standard top.

B pillar bow is original. Second door is open. Two small steel pieces by the aluminum bows are original. Footman loops are original. Aluminum bows, other door and strip bolted to the top of the tub are not original. Probably Kayline or Best Top.

Thanks. Disappointing, but not especially surprising. My build thread is over in the 25 section, where I will start listing the parts I’m now pretty certain I will need.

For those of us who have earlier soft top models yours are correct for your year. Only one can think of later would be soft door that have the bend that match the bend in the hard top sides. Don't believe your doors or B pillar bow have that bend. Does windshield have the spot welded channel for the canvas top. Post better pictures of the pieces for over the doors. Many of those require the same angle as the hard tops to bolt to the windshield. Looks like I see the threaded stud require for that angle piece.
