From the red rust, looks like half of it gave out a while ago.

I believe so.
Others I have seen broke have poly. IMO poly does not flex and stress the part.
I beefed the uppers up hopefully to avoid breakage and retained OEM bushings

Got the LC back on the road! Got the two broken arms welded at a local shop this morning for $20, was able to install in the parking lot, and am now just 11 hours from SLC. I will hit up cruiser outfitters when j get home and get the OME adjustable arms. In the spirit of paying it forward, I should have three rear upper control arms that could patch someone together if need be. I am in the SLC area and can be reached on MUD. I will post some pics when I get home. Cheers!
