Not exactly mud, but...

So my 10 y/o niece had an exploded, leaking ballpoint pen in the pocket of her school bookbag which was subsequently smeared all over the back seat. How does one get a copious amount of ballpoint ink out of leather upholstery?

Thanks,
Dan

The only thing that I can think of is Oxy Clean concentrate. I had a couple of stains that I though would never come out and I used that stuff and sure enough the stains came out. Warm to hot water and apply vigorously - and hope for the best.

Good luck!

I think it used to be hairspray for that, better Google it to be sure.

A Billy Mays product that actually worked?

My kids wrote all over our leather couch so i tried a bunch of stuff to clean it up and just made it worse. Scrubbed too hard, left a mark, etc.

Another spot I left alone and in a couple weeks of their little asses on-offing the couch 100 times a day, the ink was gone. Sounds like you have a major spill to deal with though, so I vote for the Magic Eraser. Those things baffle me how they can clean stuff off that bleach, ammonia, and God knows what else can't even budge. Good stuff.

Maybe Goo GOne. That stuff is amazing.

Start by blotting with a paper towel moistened with rubbing alcohol. The magic eraser is good but it is abrasive. You want to make sure you remove all the ink you can before abrading the coating over the leather.
