My 2006 Land Cruiser just started billowing smoke.
I had almost finished a 130 mile highway trip and pulled off the interstate to get gas. I noticed a slight miss/lack of power when pulling into gas station. After filling up, when I restarted I got a huge cloud of smoke. I immediately pulled over and called my wife to pick me up or follow me home.

after sitting for 5 minutes, I restarted and there was not much smoke, just a puff. She followed me for about 10 minutes and then it started to smoke heavily. I shut it down, and it’s currently parked.

any ideas? No idiot lights. No DTC codes. Appeared gray.

Valve seal, piston ring, clogged PCV valve, etc. If gray and not white, It’s burning oil 😔 If white, then you’ve popped a head gasket 😢

^^this, hopefully not. Check your coolant first on the radiator, see if it has lost some or a significant amount, then check next the coolant reservoir. Check also your oil dipstick level.

Probably your pipe T broke, and coolant sprayed all over the exhaust causing steam. $2 on the table that I bet its that.
