    Hi guys!

I went and bought my dream car, a 1995 FZJ80!!! Yeah! I'm stoked! It's green, 144K miles, LOCKERS of course! I can't wait to build it up a bit. Add one more GIRL to the ranks who isn't afraid to wheel!

Can you advise me with a couple of things? The battery level gauge on the right, the needle sits exactly halfway between the middle and the top indicator lines. is that bad or unsafe?

Also, is it normal for the oil level needle to dip a bit when idling, then ramp up to a higher position while running at highway speeds?

Sorry for newbie and girl questions but I love my new Cruiser and don't want anything to happen to her! Thanks and see you on the trails!

    Lindsay--

    First - Mud Welcome! :flipoff2:

Second - Congrats on the purchase!

Third - this thread will become worthless quickly without pics of the purchase!

Fourth - both conditions you ask about are perfectly normal. :D

Whereabout in CA? You'll have to plan on Surf N Turf in November to show off your beauty (and you too!).

    Oil gauge is normal...

    Check these links out....priceless links...:

    http://sleeoffroad.com/newbie/newbie100.htm

    http://www.lcool.org/technical/80_series/80_series_technical.html

Both of these will help you out with most of your questions.

Also, check out the FAQ's right at the top of this forum. Many, many, many questions are answered, mulled over, discussed, argued over, fought over, cussed over, etc. here. And then, of course, use the search function to find what you need...almost everything you cold ever think of has been discussed in one form or another on these boards....

    And welcome :flipoff2:

    Lindsay,

Congrats on your new cruiser! Another cruiser princess into the fold:D :princess:  :D

Yes it is normal for the oil pressure to change from idling & driving conditions.
The needle of the voltmeter is also in the correct position..
