Finishing the heater install and noticed that the Toyota hose (as well as the standard NAPA etc. hose) does not get clamped all the way by the wider brackets ( the hose clamps do fine).

They wiggle and rattle a little.

What is wrong with my install or is this somehow normal?

Could anyone please confirm that this bracket can indeed tighten down all the way onto the hose and/or wire clamps? Mine is shy about 1mm for some reason when tightened all the way and wiggles around.

Mine fit snugly. I used Gates green-stripe hose, which does run a bit thicker...likely helped it match more with the (assumedly) metric variant Uncle Toyota used.

Could either look for thicker hose, or I'd probably just tuck rubber strip in there as a shim to take up the slack.

Thanks.
Alright, this my fix unless someone points out a risk I’m not thinking of.

Only bit I can think of is that they degrade pretty quickly over time. Whether it matters here, not sure.

I had some leftover rubber roofing that was handy for making gaskets and such...an old bicycle inner tube might do the deed too.
