Tejona came to me with no heater installed. Included in the trade was a box with a bunch of heater parts; the heater box itself has seem better days. I ordered a used box from I was told was a 1974 FJ40 (same year as my truck). Heater box that came with truck on left, one I ordered on right. Can anyone tell me what vintage each actually came out of?

My ‘74 1/2 has the same box as you have on the left, with the mechanical flipper control on the left side.

The heater on the right ended 9/73. Your vent in the cowl would be welded closed. The 74+ heater used the vent in the top instead. With the handle to lift the damper for defrost being on the left side the one on the right is most likely a 73 model from a LHD. Handle was originally in the front in a slit. Handle moved to the side with the transmission floor shift.
