Heat shield for vortec exhaust (1 Viewer)

When swapping to the 5.3 Vortec, would i need to add heat shield, under the body on the passenger side? Since the exhaust on the new motor is left and right? Also on these swaps would I be better to have the exhaust done after the body is back on the wagon.
