Trying to mount a header to my 1970 and it doesnt seem like I can get the mounts to line up. You can see by looking at the far let and right mounts are too far outward and cant be adjusted to make it so the washers exert force on them.

Any ideas? My only thought is getting some larger washers (or making some) and making them odd shaped so they don't interfere with the intake manifold.

That's pretty common fitment. I made custom washers to extend and cover more of the header. They work great so far.

I changed all the studs to the later model larger version (12mm?) and also a bit longer. Made a spacer by cutting a stock washer to fit which made the manifold and header the same 'thickness'. Then I used a larger washer that covered both flanges better and used a flange nut for better clamping force. All of this with a Remflex gasket.

I purchased the hardware from Belmetric.com

Thanks everyone. Had a hunch it was just the normal pains of aftermarket parts. Thanks for the creative ideas to fix.
