Head gasket time? (1 Viewer)

I checked the oil awhile after getting it, and it was tan.
I was hoping it was condensation from sitting.
It ran fine, didn’t smoke.
I drive it some Sundays, but never for very long- like 1/4 mile at a time.
Its running progressively worse, but still not smoking or anything.
A couple weeks ago, the temp started to climb as I was tooling around the hills in our neighborhood so I checked, and had to add a fair bit of water to the radiator.
On a whim today, I figured I’d check the oil.
the dipstick reads high and the oil is milky.
do I bother changing the oil, or dive into a head gasket?

Not to jump into a conclusion but I would drain the radiator first to see if there is any milky fluid inside. If there is, the head gasket is likely blown.

After "having to add a fair bit of water to the radiator" did you have to add more water/coolant after that day?

Head gasket! It is not a bad job on an F engine.

Replace the head gasket; that is about the only thing on an F-series engine that can bring the milkshake.
