HDJ81 Factory Remote

Hey,

I was thoroughly cleaning my truck today and I found the black box pictured below underneath my passenger seat. When I got the truck it came with a key fob, but I've never been able to actually get it to work. Is there any possible way to order a new fob that would correspond with the box below (assuming that this box is a control unit for remote power locks)?

I would think you would need more than just some slim box for the fob.... the HDJ's got them in late 92? Andrew on the island has it on his truck unless its aftermarket....

That connector goes into the box...not sure what else it might lead to.

So if that isn't related to keyless entry, I wonder if there's still a way to get a new fob coded for my truck? I would much rather get the factory system going (if possible) as opposed to purchasing an aftermarket one.

Or maybe buddy in Japan lost his key and got one of those made up because that's all they had? There has to be someone on here that has the factory system.

Ill look though the EPC also and see what I come up with

I got three keys with my truck as well as the fob that has toyota stamped into it...I'm sure there's some kind of factory keyless entry.

I got a 2 way compustar command start w/ turbo timer and keyless entry, it's nearly the cheapest way to add keyless entry and you get so much more utility from the system than just keyless entry.

If you don't think you'd use the command start, then get a one way system for less money, but still get keyless entry and a turbo timer that you just pull the ebrake handle, remove the key, and walk away. The truck runs for 2 min and shuts itself off.

Pull that out and sell it to help fund your keyless entry upgrade, lol.
