obviously a diesel engine will have some black smoke coming out of the muffler, and usually more when accelerating... but if there was an abnormal amount of smoke, what would this infer the problem is?

black smoke

i am having the same problem with my 3b. it has new injectors, has been very well pampered and serviced but it seams to have too much black smoke. i would think it is too much fuel but how do you know or adjust this. good luck

wayne the truck im wondering about is that private sale truck that i called you about 3 weeks ago regarding an inspection.... the owner was asking 19,000 back then, and i wasnt prepared to pay that....not super keen on a 4" lift... but i still have lingering feelings about the truck....

ah...
Mike took a look at it recently, he said he never saw so much black smoke coming out of a unit... even worse than my old hzj75!!
interesting, send it by and let me take a look at it..
cheers

hes asking 18.500 with lockers.....
when i test drove it , the rig pulled right HARD...made test driving a RHD even more of a challenge for a newbie like me.

Ill check the funds with the wife before i trouble you for an inspection. Im sure your a busy guy, i dont wanna bug you too much.

curious question....whos mike? a guy at your shop?

oh yeah... mike did check it out...any idea what his comments were?

sounds like trouble. two strikes and it aint yours yet!

the truck does have a new K&N air filter... so that might knock one of those items off the list.

worse than that!!! my gawd. That thing was impossible to follow........when you stepped on..;)

Black smoke on a BJ60?? fuel turned up too much. IMOP

I had s*** injectors and heavy dirty airfilter at times...no smoke till I turned the fuel up.

Possibilty the injection pump timing is off??????? maybe its a little late and not getting to detonate all the fuel being squirted in?

brownbear .....im guessing your mike? just trying to figure eveyrones name out...

roughly how much work does that truck need to be in tip top shape?
