Hazard rocker switch on column FJ62 (1 Viewer)

My hazard lights rocker switch on the column is seized. Don’t know if broke or seized. Anyone have fix or is this a replace. Normally would care but I’ve been broken down more than a few times in bad spots. Grant me some space here, owner it for 2 months putting out biggest fires first.

Take a close look at where the switch goes through the plastic housing for the steering column.

I was convinced that mine was seized, but it turns out it was just hanging on that plastic. I can give a light push on the side of the column and it works fine. I have thought about taking it off and filing a 1/16" off that hole, but it seems more trouble than its worth.

Have you removed the plastic cover to look at it directly?

When I get home tonight I’ll take a look. I threw up my hands last night when dealing with crappy mechanics work from pervious owner.

Two thumbs up on plastic cowl interference
had hat happen to me
If the small screw in the center of the lower cowl/cover isn’t in correctly it shifts the whole cowl left causing the iterference.

I’ve had to take off the cover a few times and 100% of the time I align it wrong. Thinking of taking a dremmel to the top half the hazards work regularly.

How cool was that. Slide the column cover over 1/10000000 of an inch (mm for any people in country that have proper measuring system) and it worked perfect! Thanks a ton (tonne)!
