having problems w/ accelerator cable V8 (2 Viewers)

I am having problems w/ accelerator cable. the Fj40 has a 350 v8 w/ a 650 holley Carb. the cruiser has a 4spd tranny and case

I am using a cable from a 73-75 chevy 2whl drive truck. I some how manage to fold the accelaerator plate w/ the whole to the opposite side from where it usually goes.

what I dont like is that the cable it's little short.

I'd like to hear what other types of cables would work there or remedies in order not to tear the cable.

i run an aftermarket cable made by spectre (hot rod company, not the landcruiser company). it is a universal cable set up that you trim to fit.comes in steel braided housing with all sorts of adapter hardware. works beautifuly. paid about $30 for it at kragen or similar parts store.

Ths spectre one will work just fine and is adjustable.
